Aims

To review and share best practice and develop strategies for Dentist Appraisal

Objectives
  • Respond to your needs and refresh your key skills at this stage in your work as appraisers
  • Update on the key principles of appraisal: how to prepare objectively; agree an Enhanced PDP; links to advancing dental care
  • Reinforce core skills and knowledge to support you in your work as an appraiser - how to: facilitate reflection; give developmental feedback; link personal objectives to organisational and ECPD objectives; deal with issues of poor performance constructively
Learning outcomes

Following the session participants will be able to appraise their peers using a process that is in line with ECPD guidelines whilst ensuring consistency, fairness and objectively throughout the appraisal process.
