DescriptionWe invite our colleagues to join us in a workshop designed to empower them to provide mentorship and support to new international medical graduates as they begin their training. The workshop will equip participants with the confidence and skills necessary to make a difference in the lives of their mentees.

What will be covered?

• Describe the similarities and differences between coaching and mentoring, and determine which approach is best suited for a given situation

• Develop enhanced skills, including active listening, supportive and challenging questioning, and techniques that facilitate effective communication and problem-solving

• Build rapport with mentees, respectfully challenge assumptions and limiting beliefs, and enable them to see the bigger picture and generate more options

• Reflect on strategies to support the integration of international medical graduates into the NHS, drawing on their own experience and insights
