Aims

Return with Resilience’ aims to equip you with all the tools you need to return to work with confidence, enhanced skills and a resilient mindset.

Objectives

Day 1:

Delegates will gain a deep understanding of the key aspects of psychology that build resilience and learn how to apply them in clinical practice.

Delegates will master the core skills of self-observation, communication, breathing, visualisation, meditation, and mindfulness. They will experience practical examples of these.

They will also have the opportunity to reflect on and evaluate the effects of putting their new understanding and skills into practice using the Resilient Practice workbook.

Day 2:

Delegates will have the opportunity to measure their individual resilience needs using the 'Resilient Practice Gap Analysis Tool' to which the tools are clearly mapped.

They will experience a wide range of practical accessible resilience tools and techniques from which they can create their own Resilience Toolkit.

Delegates will then explore scenarios common to medical practice (complaints, difficult consultations, conflict within the team) and apply their toolkit in each.

Learning outcomes

After the course delegates will be able to:

  • Identify their individual resilience needs using the Resilient Practice Resilience Gap Analysis Questionnaire
  • Address specific needs related to the reasons for their absence
  • Appreciate how they are influenced by their own conditioning

  • Challenge and reframe any negative patterns of thinking and negative core beliefs
