Additional information

I’m not sure if I’ve done ‘enough’ coaching to come to a supervision session – is it still ok to book one?

Yes. Commitment to supervision and CPD is part of our ethical agreement as coaches and it really doesn’t matter how much coaching you have done recently - you are still welcome to access supervision.

Perhaps

you are considering the kind of coach you wish to be and what the pathway to becoming that coach looks like

you are thinking about what other skills, knowledge or awareness might help you be as effective as possible in your coaching role

you wish to unpack your reflections on your own practice without judgement and with support

you would like to make sense of your responses towards your coachees

you would like to explore patterns that come up in your coaching and consider whether they help or hinder you

What is available?

Pre-bookable 45 minute 1:1 Coaching supervision sessions with Susy via MS Teams or zoom for HEE coaches on the Y&H coaching register. Please specify your preference when booking.

Supervision as a term can have connotations around performance and progress, particularly with regard to medical education. It is important to be aware that when we are talking about coaching supervision, we mean something different: a collaborative exploration which aims to support and develop you as a coach.

Supervision can be described in terms of three functions: normative (are you practicing ethically and safely), formative (do you feel you have the skill set required for the work that is coming to you), restorative (how do you resource and look after yourself to continue this work). Your session will be bespoke to you and can address any or all of these areas.
