Aims

Delivery of information on cross infection control, decontamination and disinfection procedures in the dental surgery, to understand why cross infection control within the clinical environment is paramount to preventing infections

Objectives

1. To explain the stages of the decontamination process as identified in the HTM 01-05 guidance document.

2. To examine the HTM 01-05 guidance document and discuss how key environmental legislation applies to dentistry.

3. To discuss infection risk reduction.
