Aims

1 To provide an update on the use of pre formed metal crowns in children

2 To know in which cases and scenarios they should be used

3 To gain insight into the placement of stainless steel crowns in the deciduous dentition.

Learning outcomes

•Feel more confident about managing children with gross caries in the deciduous dentition that require a preformed metal crown

•Be able to justify the Hall technique

•Understand how to place a preformed metal crown on a suitable tooth

•Identify clinical situations where further intervention is required.
