Aims

This course is designed to inform and guide delegates in the responsibilities of a General Dental Practice Legionella Responsible Person role.

Objectives

1. Identification of individual and company responsibilities and consequences of failure to adhere to these requirements. 2. An introduction tomthe HSE’s ACoP L8 and HS274 Part 2 and an explanation of other legally enforceable legislation relating to legionella. 3. Understand the key requirement of the HSE ACoP and HTM 01-05 to carry out a risk assessment on all properties containing water services.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the day, delegates will hold sufficient knowledge to fully understand the legal implications of the relevant documentation and to understand how to implement a suitable control and management scheme for Legionella within their dental practice.
