DescriptionThis Dental Decontamination Leadership session will enable you to progress in a leadership role by providing you with the underpinning knowledge on decontamination & allow you to develop the leadership skills required to manage the day to day running of a decontamination area. Aims

To provide knowledge and understanding of decontamination and develop essential leadership skills to manage the day-to-day running of a decontamination area.

Objectives

To consider and discuss: Leadership qualities needed to perform the lead role Key legislation and guidance including non-compliance consequences All aspects of infection control including the chain of infection, hand hygiene and PPE, designing decontamination areas, validation, reprocessing and contingency planning Delegates will also undertake a validation practical activity

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course delegates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and competence by achieving a pass in the end of course assessment. Apply leadership skills and behaviours to the role of decontamination lead in general dental practice.
