Aims | To discuss the diagnosis and management of children with complex dental and medical needs through a series of case based discussions. |
Objectives | • Multiple complex case scenarios will be presented for discussion • Participants will diagnose and treatment plan the cases giving various options for treatment using different modalities e.g. LA, IHS or GA • When and how to refer to specialist care will be discussed |
Learning outcomes | a) Formulate differential diagnoses for children with complex dental and/or medical needs. b) Develop treatment options for a range of paediatric scenarios. c) Have confidence in debating, with reference to contemporary evidence, the relative benefits of various treatment strategies when managing more complex paediatric dental cases who may require multidisciplinary care |
