Additional information | IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FACE TO FACE COURSES Due to recent changes in government guidelines relating to COVID-19 we are in the process of updating our F2F event policy. Aims | To discuss partial denture theory with emphasis on: principles of acrylic/chrome denture design, overdentures, overlay dentures, management of free end saddles and briefly rehabilitation of patients with palatal defects. To discuss complete denture theory with emphasis on: principles of complete denture design, impression techniques, occlusal registration techniques, management of flabby ridges and basic implant retained overdentures. |
Objectives | By the end of the session, delegates should: Have a working understanding of partial and complete denture design Appreciate which impression and occlusal registration techniques may be appropriate when managing a removable prosthodontic patient. Understand how to design overlay/overdentures. Understand how to manage a patient with combination syndrome. Understand the principles of duplicate and immediate denture prosthodontics. Have an understanding of basic implant retained overdenture design. Appreciate that patients with palatal defects can be rehabilitated with obturators and need referral to a specialist centre. |
