IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FACE TO FACE COURSES Due to recent changes in government guidelines relating to COVID-19 we are in the process of updating our F2F event policy. Aims | This course is a series of interactive lectures discussing common orofacial infections. It describes the anatomical planes to be aware of to predict risk of spread of dental infections and outlines management and prescribing options. It also looks at common orofacial skin infections and how these can be recognised and managed.It signposts appropriate care and referral pathways and red flags to alert the clinician |
Objectives | Outline the anatomical planes and how infection spreads Describe principles of management of odontogenic infections Outline treatment options and sequelae of untreated infections Describe appropriate therapeutic considerations including antibiotic and analgesia prescribing Outline common skin infections in the orofacial region Describe management of skin infections Signpost when/where to refer if necessary |
