Aims

Practitioners should be able to recognise and be aware of techniques to effetively anaesthetising a mandibular hot molar to allow for the provision of definitive acute dental treatment.

Objectives
  • Recognise the clinical profile of a Hot Tooth with an appreciation for the pathophyiology
  • Have an increased awareness of the theories of why these teeth are more difficult to anaesthetise
  • Have an increased awareness of the various combinations of local anaesthetic techniques and solutions at the practitioners disposal
  • Have an appreciation for the success rates associated with each technique
