Lecturer profileVicki currently works as a Consultant in Special Care Dentistry and Clinical Director of the Community Dental Service for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and is lead clinician for older frail and vulnerable adults and people with a mental illness. She was past president of the British Society of Gerodontology (BSG) and is chair of the All Wales Special Interest Group/Special Oral Health Care (SIG). Her publications include co-author of the BSG 2006 Guidelines for the Development of Standards Oral Health Care for People with Dementia, Oral Health Care for Stroke Survivors, www.gerodontology.com well as SIG recommendations for ‘Oral Nutritional Supplementation and Oral Health’ and ‘Oral Health Care and Dysphagia. www.sigwales.org

Lecturer profileShe works as a Specialist in Special Care Dentistry and manages a team of special care dentists and DCP's in Dorset. She has developed a Special Care Dental Service providing comprehensive care including Domiciliary Care, Conscious Sedation and General anaesthesia for adults with additional needs. She has also been involved with carer training in Oral Health and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Disability and Oral Health. She has been a tutor on the MClin Dent distance learning course at Kings and BUOLD older people and special care dentistry modules. She is also a mentor for the DSTG and has provided postgraduate training for dentists in conscious sedation.
