This was followed by rotational SHO posts at Glasgow Dental Hospital in numerous specialities including oral surgery, oral medicine and paediatric dentistry. She then went onto consolidating her training in a community dentistry setting before becoming a specialist registrar in Special Care Dentistry.

| Lecturer profile | Amy qualified from the University of Leeds BChD (Hons) in 2008. Following her vocational training year in a busy NHS practice in Leeds, Amy worked as an SHO in the Oral and Maxillofacial team at Bradford St Lukes Hospital for 12 months. After obtaining the MJDF Amy worked part-time as a Dental Officer for Cambridgeshire Community Dental Services and a part-time associate in a corporate dental practice.
Between 2011-2013, whilst working as a Dental Officer, Amy also attended the Eastman Dental Institute's part-time Diploma course in Special Care Dentistry and gained the Diploma with distinction in 2013. She is currently a Specialty Registrar in Special Care Dentistry within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this post is allowing her to explore her interest in the practical aspects of research within the specialty. Amy’s main interest is providing dentistry to people with mental health problems and those requiring care in non-clinical settings, for example on domiciliary visits in residential care and private homes
