Lecturer profile | I gained a Diploma Dental Hygiene / Dental Therapy in 2005 and was awarded the prize for the highest marks in Scotland through invitation to be a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. In 2011, I gained a PGCE in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. In 2015, I was awarded a distinction for MSc Evidence Based Practice. I am currently undertaking a Doctor of Professional Practice. I have worked in Higher Education since 2009 having gained experience as a dental therapy lecturer before becoming programme leader for the BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Therapy at Teesside University. In 2022, I gained the post as Lecturer of Cultural and Societal Transformation in Dental Education at the University of Leeds. This role allows me to promote equality, diversity and inclusion in student education which I am passionate about. Throughout my clinical career in dentistry, I have worked in a range of dental practices as a Dental Therapist; NHS and private settings and in community. I have a specialist interest in managing the needs of anxious patients and this includes pain management. At the University of Leeds, I am module leader for the Anxiety and Pain Management module. I am an Assessment Panellist for the GDC and I have held positions as External Examiner at both Manchester University and the University of Highlands and Islands.

Lecturer profile | Leanne Hague is a dental hygiene and dental therapy teaching fellow at the university of Leeds. She is module lead for the teaching of clinical skills in the hygiene and therapy programme and also works part time in clinical practice, carrying out restorative dentistry to her full scope of practice. Leanne has a keen interest in Minimally invasive caries management and she attained her diploma in paediatric dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2020. |

Lecturer profile | As a Senior Teaching Fellow I am involved in the management and delivery of undergraduate teaching, specifically The BSc Hons in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. I also deliver teaching within several modules for the Mchd programme. I hold registration with The General Dental Council as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist. Awarded a BEd Hons in 1991 and a Msc in Interprofessional Health and Welfare Studies I have delivered lectures related to my interests in Oral Health , Teamworking and Skills mix. I was awarded The Royal Society of Health Diploma in Dental Health in 1989 which has led me to pursue research into Oral Health and multi disciplinary teams. I have experience of dental education as both a tutor and previous Principal ,now at The University of Leeds and previously at Barts and The London Hospital. I have worked for The General Dental Council in different roles since 1991, Committee member, External Assessor, Fitness to Practice and now as Registration Assessor. |

She has previously worked as a Clinical Tutor for the University of Sheffield and worked with the BDJ Team as a Panel Reader. 2020 Laura was awarded Highly Commended Best Dental Hygienist in the Dental Teams category for the Dentistry Awards.
