Aims

 The aims of this course are:

  • To cover the basics of radiation physics
  • To summarise the Ionising Radiation Regulations and how they impact on practice life
  • To examine ways of minimising dosage and selecting appropriate imaging techniques
  • How to implement radiographic QA and audit in practice
Objectives

The participants should be able:

  • To understand why there are legal requirements when using ionsising radiation
  • To apply the principles of radiation protection to their practices, to follow selection criteria and to set up a QA programme in their practice
