Aims

To familiarise the dental team with childhood ailments affecting both the primary and permanent dentition as well as oral soft tissues.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Give the best advice (including referral for specialist care as appropriate) to those patients affected by these conditions Identify those affected teeth that can be restored in general dental practice
  • List the more common ailments that can affect both the primary and secondary dentitions
  • Recognise soft tissue conditions that may be linked to medical conditions
