Aims

To provide an overview of some of the potential challenges faced when planning and providing treatment for the aged patient

Objectives

At the end of the day delegates will:

  • Have a greater insight into the Mental Capacity Act
  • Be aware of the role of Special Care Dentistry in the management of the elderly
  • Understand the rationale behind planning restorative treatment for the terminal dentition
  • Have an update on the management of BRONJ
  • Have knowledge of the drugs which may impact on the surgical management of the elderly
  • Recognise the factors that can affect the success of complete dentures
