Aims

What a delegate can hope to take from the workshop

To understand the benefits of taking an overall human resource management approach

An introduction to human resource management and how a longer-term approach can bring benefits to the practice. This will lead to an understanding of the key processes that should be in place for effective human resource management.

To feel confident in delegating and using other motivational techniques

The importance of delegation to both management and the team. A practical understanding of motivational theory and how and where this can be applied to ensure a high-performing team, including the role of learning and development.

To review and improve the practice appraisal system

The importance of appraisals are understood and the key elements identified. The fundamentals are then applied to the dental practice, to tailor and improve delegates’ appraisals systems to maximise their effectiveness.

To evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of recruitment and selection in your practice

The process behind recruitment and selection in a practice and how it can be evaluated is explained. Each stage of the process is broken down to look at alternative approaches and evaluate the benefits of each approach to different types of dental practices.
