Aims

This one day theoretical and clinical hands-on course will cover clinical management of patients with established periodontal disease and the care and Maintenance of Dental Implants.

Objectives
  • Delegates will be shown how to formulate a care pathway for periodontal patients
  • To discuss the clinical management of codes 3 and 4 including when to refer
  • To refresh knowledge of the 2017 perio classification, current periodontal guidelines and apply to diagnosis and treatment planning
  • To discuss the importance of personalised bio feedback in the behaviour change model
Learning outcomes

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

Apply knowledge and understanding to the management of periodontal disease and return to practice with increased confidence.

Assess dental implants, identify signs of failure and understand the implications of poor oral hygiene.

Better engage patients so they take ownership of their periodontal and peri-implant health.
