To understand the requirements to undertake Direct Access and use the full scope of a Dental Therapist

Objectives
  1. Review the scope of practice (SoP) of a DT & DH Revise how to obtain, interpret, and record an accurate medical, dental and social history Establish how to perform a comprehensive extra-oral and intra-oral examination, including special investigations.
  2. Determine areas out of SoP and confidence which may require further investigation or treatment and refer onwards
  3. Discuss the management of a patient with dental pain
