Aims

To facilitate mutually respected working relationships between Dental Nurses and Early Years Dentists/Therapists during the foundation training year

Objectives

During the event dental nurses will have the opportunity to:

  • Examine the foundation year training and describe their specific involvement within the scope of practice when supporting these dental professionals
  • Explore the importance of early engagement and determine effective responses when dealing with difficult situations
  • Define leadership in the context of supporting Foundation Dentists/Therapists and demonstrate leadership skills in a given situation

After this course delegates will be able to:

  • Support the Early Years Dentist/Therapist by leading and guiding a collaborative team working approach to person centred care
  • Possess a deeper insight and understanding of the training year
  • Apply the learning within dental nurse scope of practice
