Aims

To update and improve knowledge of the management of traumatic dental injuries (TDI) in children

Objectives
  • Classification, acute, medium and long term management of TDI and the importance of diagnosing combination injuries.
  • Use of special tests and management of the poor prognosis anterior tooth Splinting of luxated/avulsed teeth
  • Theory behind restoration of fractured incisors using cvek pulpotomy technique and composite build up using crown forms
Learning outcomes
  • Undertake a thorough history and examination including appropriate specials tests to arrive at an appropriate diagnosis
  • Apply appropriate medium and long-term management of TDI in order to achieve best possible outcomes
  • Understand the theory behind the appropriate emergency management of the following types of TDI: Luxation injuries, including avulsion and uncomplicated and complicated crown fractures
