Aims

The aim of this course is discuss a number of clinical scenarios, with hands-on articulation of casts, where an appreciation of the occlusion helped to ensure a successful outcome.

Objectives
  • To discuss the relevance of the “ideal occlusion” in restorative dentistry and to discuss methods of recording the occlusion.
  • To discuss when to conform or reorganise an occlusion and to discuss articulator selection and how to record a facebow transfer.
  • To show how articulator settings can be set to aid the clinician and optimise clinical efficiency
