Description | The NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education is specifically designed to equip a dental nurse wishing to develop professionally to become an oral health educator, with the knowledge and skills required to be able to effectively deliver oral health care messages, educate various patient groups and have the ability to adapt information and communication to the specific needs of the patient. |
Additional information | Please note this register has now closed. Entry requirements: In order to undertake the qualification, a dental nurse must: be registered with the General Dental Council have the support of their employing dentist to act as supervisor and validate the work-based activities for the Record of Competence (ROC) and be able to meet the work-based clinical requirements of the Record of Competence be enrolled with a course provider accredited by NEBDN be sufficiently fluent in written and spoken English to communicate with patients, their relatives, the dental team and other healthcare professionals in the UK. (GDC Standards for the Dental Team, 2.1.2) An additional fee of £205 is payable to the NEBDN for Registration, Record of Competence and associated exam fees. |
