Aims

This course will consider the different stages of removable partial denture, overlay/overdenture and complete denture design including impressions, occlusal registration, management of flabby ridges and basic implant retained overdentures.

Objectives

To summarise the principles of partial and complete denture design To describe which impression and occlusal registration techniques may be appropriate when managing a removable prosthodontic patient. To list the design features of overlay/overdentures. To discuss how a patient with combination syndrome can be predictably managed. To describe attachment systems for basic implant retained overdentures.
