Aims

PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO DELEGATES ATTENDING IN TEAMS

Infection control is a vitally important aspect of clinical dentistry.  This course is designed to update and facilitate the dental team's knowledge in this important area, through a series of presentations and team based workshops.  it will address:

  • Practical advice on the application of current infection control regulations in HTM 01-05, HTM 01-04
  • Updates on infections relevant to dentistry and how they are transmitted
  • Guidance on legal aspects of infection control
  • Advice on appropriate practice policies in relation to infection control
  • best practice for the use of personal protection
  • Update on the decontamination process in detail (central or local)
  • Guidance on water line maintenance
  • Current advice on waste management
  • Guidance on sharps injuries/blood spillage
  • Advice on audit, validation and traceability in relation to infection control

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to implement any new techniques/advice practically in their dental practice.
