Description | This 3 hour session run by the Yorks and Humber/ HEE Regional Dental Sedation Peer Review Group is designed to bring seditionists together to promote discussion and learning. Please email Nicola.Crofts-Barnes@cds-cic.co.uk if you are experiencing any problems with the course link. |
Additional information | Although all sedationists are welcome the course may be best suited to intravenous practitioners. Please bring 2 cases that will stimulate discussion e.g. a case where you need advice from colleagues, a case which you have learnt from or a case you feel would be interesting to others/ others would learn from. In addition please feel free to raise any discussion topics you feel may be relevant via email to the organiser. |

Aims | To increase practitioners knowledge and confidence in the treatment of patients under sedation by bringing dental seditionists together to promote discussion and learning. |
Objectives | To provide an environment to promote open discussion among seditionists about sedation cases, complications, adverse incidents and their management leading to increased awareness and confidence when treating patient’s under sedation To encourage practitioners to update and learn from others experiences To identify and review current relevant guidelines to ensure practitioners are up to date To share local and regional audit and promote best practice To highlight dental seditionist and DCP educational needs and plan accordingly |
Learning outcomes | · Have increased confidence in case selection for sedation, and the management of adverse incidents and complications under sedation · Take the knowledge gained from the meeting back to their practice teams to promote best practice within their team · Use the knowledge gained to adhere to best practice with a view to increasing standards of care and patient safety |
