To provide an overview of how to undertake and record a dental examination for a patient seeking care under Direct Access.

Demonstrate how to conduct thorough extra oral and intra oral examinations.

Discuss and explain the rationale underpinning different special investigations that can supplement the dental examination to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.

Highlight best practice with regard to record-keeping.
