An online interactive hands-on workshop designed to help you refresh your knowledge and skills in using Egan's The Skilled Helper model. Designed for those who have attended the HEEYH Mentoring Development Programme, you will gain most from this session by reading through your Programme workbook and bringing it and your prompts crib sheet to the session.

To allow update, continuity and progression of trained Mentors in HEE YH.

Objectives

Sharing experiences of mentoring since being a trained Mentor.

Interactive style refreshing all the stages of the Egan Model with areas of development and some demonstration if required, eg brainstorming

By the end of the session delegates will have:

Refreshed Egan’s The Skilled Helper model of mentoring

Identified aspects of the model that require development/practice

Practiced in small groups through the model with a mentee and a real issue, being observed and feedback given.

More knowledge and confidence in mentoring
