Aims

To provide an overview of current updates in dental training in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Objectives

1. To explore the concept of ‘informal learning’ in the clinical workplace and consider ways to maximise the opportunities for informal experiential learning.

2. To showcase the development and ongoing commitment the Y&H Dental Faculty have to Sustainability Training in all dental training programmes since 2017.

3. To provide a baseline understanding of Emotional Intelligence approaches in adult Education and Workforce development and in DFT within Y&H

4. To showcase, collaboratively review and gain educator feedback on the Y&H Dental Educator Training Framework

5. To provide basic understanding of what Imposter Syndrome is and how to recognise it in yourself and your team

Learning outcomes

1. Describe the term ‘informal learning’ and understand the range of ways it can inform teaching practices

2. Learn about Sustainable Dentistry and how Sustainable Quality Improvement Projects contribute to a Net Zero NHS.

3. Understand what Emotional Intelligence is and it’s empowerment of DFTs in Y&H.

4. Reflect on and review the Dental Educator Training Framework

5. Recognise Imposter Syndrome
