SubjectOral Surgery
DescriptionDuring this coming away day delegates will be invited to consider the options for both grafting protocols, materials and soft tissue handling during the process of preparing an alveolar ridge for implant placement. The organising committee has very grateful for our speaker's time, who come with a variety of backgrounds, opinions and experiences. By providing contrasting views the delegates will have the opportunity to challenge our understanding and grow as learners.

Aims

To understand the tensions in bone grafting of the alveolar ridge in the preparation for implant placement, and ensure that this is directly linked to passing ISFE summative assessments

Objectives

This day will include expert speakers in the field who will first provide teaching through the medium of presentations and discussions. Delegates will then observe these speakers discuss cases, shortly followed by more senior StR’s being provided with an opportunity to answer ISFE formatted questions on similar cases.

Learning outcomes

1) Recognise the frailties and strengths of different grafting techniques.

2) Understand what cases these techniques should be applied.

3) Learn the diction to apply this in a verbal summative assessment.
