Aims

To give delegates an overview of soft tissue infections that may present in practice and how to manage these cases appropriately

Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will:

  • Recognise the clinical features indicative of infection
  • Be able to plan the investigation of patients with soft tissue infection
  • Recognise the features indicative of localised versus spreading infection
  • Be able to propose treatment regimens for a patient with soft tissue infection of dental and non-dental origin
  • Know when to manage the patient in a practice setting and when to refer
