There are 2 elements: A F2F event to refresh knowledge and skills in dental examinations, opening courses of treatment, and NHS regulations. The second, an online peer review event facilitating shared learning and providing support for development.

This course includes an optional online evening peer review meeting on 20th June to support further learning and development. You will automatically be booked on this and, although optional, is highly recommended.

Aims

To provide an overview of how to undertake and record a dental examination for a patient seeking care under Direct Access.

Objectives

The objective of the course is to explain and discuss:

Process of undertaking extra oral and intra oral examinations.

Conducting special investigations to facilitate diagnosis and treatment planning.

The use of various records and documentation needed during clinical examinations.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the F2F session delegates will be able to:

Apply knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to carry out a thorough extra-oral and intra-oral examination in Practice.

Be clear in requirements for attending the peer review online session 10 days later.
