Aims

To raise general awareness of health and safety as it applies to day-to-day activities within the dental practice in preparation for a CQC practice visit and for individuals to be able to carry out the key stages of an audit using the plan, do, check, act model.

Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand responsibilities and accountabilities of all members of the dental team, in particular the registered manager
  • Understand CQC Essential Standards of Quality and Safety and how to evidence a range of outcomes
  • Be able to determine how to apply the five steps to health and safety management
  • For individuals to be able to set realistic, achievable and measurable goals in order to prepare for a CQC practice visit
  • Understand the purpose of an audit
  • Be aware of the key features involved in an audit system
  • Be able to design a specification and plan an audit
  • Undertake an audit against CQC outcomes
