Outline guidelines relevant to the primary dental care practitioner in relation to anticoagulants, MRONJ and infective endocarditis.

Outline common complications in oral surgery and how to manage them.

Describe when to refer to secondary care.

Objectives

Understand the creation, advantages and limitations of guidelines

Have an understanding of the current dental guidelines relevant to primary care in relation to the novel anticoagulants (NOACs), MRONJ andprophylaxis for infective endocarditis.

Be aware of the impact of the Montogomery case on the NICE third molar guidelines.

Understand how common complications in oral surgery are managed.

Know when to refer to secondary care.
