Aims | Theory:To update and improve knowledge of the management of traumatic dental injuries (TDI) in children Hands-on:To improve confidence and competence in the hands-on management of TDI in children |
Objectives | Classification, acute, medium and long term management of TDI and the importance of diagnosing combination injuries. • Use of special tests and management of the poor prognosis anterior tooth Splinting of luxated/avulsed teeth • Restoration of fractured incisors using cvek pulpotomy technique and composite build up using crown forms |
Learning outcomes | 1.Undertake a thorough history and examination including appropriate specials tests to arrive at an appropriate diagnosis 2. Apply appropriate medium and long-term management of TDI in order to achieve best possible outcomes 3. Provide appropriate emergency management of the following types of TDI: - Luxation injuries, including avulsion and uncomplicated and complicated crown fractures |
