Aims

To discuss how we manage challenging behaviours in practice, and how to recognise factors that lead to difficulties accepting dental care

Objectives

This course will cover physical, behavioural and cognitive needs that may affect a patient’s ability to accept dental treatment.

Present methods of behavioural management and progressive desensitisation to aid patient’s ability to accept treatment.

To discuss individual Trust policies on behaviour management.

Identity patients requiring additional behavioural management interventions

Formulate treatment plans based on patient’s individual needs including behaviour management interventions

Implement their Trust’s policies on behaviour management
