To cover different treatment modalities available to aid in treatment of those requiring additional support whether that be due to physical or medical impairments or dental anxiety and phobia.

Objectives

To cover relevant therapeutics, pharmacology and pain control for special care patients

To discuss different options and indications for additional adjuncts including oral premedication, inhalation sedation, IV sedation and GA

To cover the guidelines behind the use additional treatment modalities

Learning outcomes

Identify patients requiring additional support like sedation and GA, and make appropriate treatment plans or onward referrals
