DescriptionUpdate on the development of direct restorative materials for posterior teeth. Hands-on session to demonstrate how to predictably restore posterior teeth with bulkfil composites including use of sectional matrix. The afternoon endodontics session with focus on root canal treatment of anterior teeth. The session will include discussion and practical session with demonstration on the use rotary instrumentation and obturation using thermoplastic techniques.

Aims

An update on direct restorative materials for posterior teeth with modern bulk fill composites. Root canal management of anterior teeth using rotary instrumentations and thermoplastic obturation.

Objectives

Understand the key factors that impact on the success of posterior composite restorations

Understand how to effectively clean and shape the root canal systems and be able to use rotary instruments.

To practice obturating root canals with an apical plug and thermoplastic gutta percha.

Learning outcomes

After this course, delegates will be able to:

Place composite restorations using modern techniques including the use of a sectional matrix.

Clean and shape simple root canal systems using rotary instruments.

Obturate open apices with bioceramic materials and thermoplastic gutta percha.
