Aims

To comply with the Health Technical Memoranda 01-05, Decontamination in Primary Care Dental Practices, Essential Quality Requirements, each dental practice is required to have a nominated lead member of staff responsible for infection control and decontamination.

This course aims to provide delegates with knowledge and understanding suitable for the role of Decontamination Lead including:

  • Validation
  • Storage, preparation, maintenance & decontamination of dental instruments & environment
  • Record keeping
  • Policies and procedures for EQR & Best Practice
  • Separation and segregation of materials, waste & decontamination chemical products
  • Quality Assurance
  • Legal requirements

By the end of this one day course delegates will be trained and educated in the duties relating to the HTM 01-05 Nominated Decontamination Lead role.
