This course aims to explore the professional and personal responsibilities places upon Dental Nurses, Hygienists and Dental Therapists by registration with the General Dental Council.

Objectives
  • Discuss the implications of registration with the General Dental Council and how this impacts on your professional and personal life
  • Explore indemnity and understand why it is important to all registrants
  • Clarification of the General Dental Council’s Scope of Practice
  • Explore the General Dental Council’s review of Direct Access and how this may impact of DCP activity
  • Activity based session – participate in a General Dental Council Fitness to Practice investigation
    • Understand the Fitness to Practice procedure
    • Explore possible outcomes
    • Understand proportionate case disposal
