SubjectDental nurse training
DescriptionThis one day course is a bite sized view of the extended roles and responsibilities of Dental Nurses working within the GDC scope of practice. The course format has been designed to be both informative and interactive; giving delegates the opportunity to experience some “hands on” activities such as suture removal, impression taking and fluoride application.

This course takes place in Seminar Room 5 and Clinical Skills Lab 2 on the 6th Floor of Leeds Dental Institute (LDI).

Please report to Seminar Room 5 on arrival (see the attached map of the 6th floor of the LDI for further information).

Aims

To give Dental Nurses an overview of the opportunities’ available to them to help  create more job satisfaction within their role

Objectives

Experience various hands on activities such as impression taking and sutre removalthroughout the day with a view to recognising areas of particular interest to themselves and their patients.

Provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss the changing role of the Dental Nurse and how they can enhance their careers by further training.
