upper and lower arches with 7-7 in the upper arch and in the lower 34567 on both sides will be provided.

Materials required from Practices

  • lab putty
  • number 11 blade disposable scalpels
  • a temp material eg. Protemp/quicktemp
  • selection of burs for the preps - medium (blue band) shoulder, bullet nose, chamfer and short parallel cavity prep bur and round burs for the inlay days.
  • selection of polishing instruments for the slow speed including so flex discs and enhance composite polishing burs.
  • Mirror / probe / magnification.

To revise and improve knowledge of assessment of patients for minor oral surgery. To learn techniques for treating suitable cases in practice.

  • Using radiographs to assess complexity of surgery
  • Basic principals of flap design, methods of bone removal and principals of elevation
