Aims

To equip dental nurses with the theoretical core of knowledge and practical skill required for undertaking dental radiography examination

Objectives
  • Know and understand core of knowledge in relation to ionising radiation and radiation protection
  • Able to identify and demonstrate the use of radiography equipment and imaging principles
  • Demonstrate practice of planning and providing radiographic examination for patients and identification and rectification of film faults.
  • It is encouraged that Dental Nurses participating in this course undertake the examiniation in December 2013 for the NEBDN Dental Radiography Certificate
  • Dental Nurses will be expected to pay the NEBDN for their Record of Experience and Examination Fee
  • Full attendance is expected from all those delegates given a place on this course
  • Dental Nurses must have the support of a Dentist who will act as a mentor throughout this course and qualification and have access to radiography equipment to enable completion of the required log sheets
  • Delegates must be prepared for considerable home study to achieve this qualification
