Aims

To release the leadership potential of participants by deepening their insight into the role, mind and skillset they need to be successfully influence and partner within an ICS.

Objectives
  • To develop a practical insight into the way that ICS are evolving and the implications that this has for the way they work.
  • To understand the different types of conversation (persuade, coach, challenge, require, inspire, negotiate) that might be used to influence the strategic direction of an ICS board in the interests of patients.
  • To practice, and receive feedback, on influencing, negotiation, dialogue and facilitation skills for generative conversations and action.
  • To understand how to use their network to build partnerships for positive change across the system
  • To explore and collectively define what success looks like for their role within an ICS.
Learning outcomes
  • Add strategic value to ICS board decisions on health and social care issues in a confident manner.
  • Build credibility with senior ICS stakeholders.
  • Clarify their personal leadership challenge and the transition required for success.
  • Develop a personal and collective action plan for dentistry so it is seen as a powerful influencer and partner within the system.
