This course is designed for dental professionals who would like to increase their awareness of all Health and Safety matters within the workplace and obtain a nationally recognised qualification. The interactive programme will assist participants in acquiring essential knowledge and practical skills. An assessment exercise with 30 questions will be undertaken at the end of the day and successful delegates will receive the Chartered Institute of Environmental health Level 2 in Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will:

  • understand the principles of occupational health and safety and apply this knowledge in the dental surgery.
  • Be able to identify a variety of hazards and effectively carry out risk assessment, recording significant findings
  • Be aware of the practical actions to improve health and safety and the care and safety of others
  • Be aware of the requirements surrounding reporting of accidents, dangerous occurrences, defective equipment and safety hazards.
