Aims

To gain greater understanding of risk factors and medical conditions associated with problematic bleeding.

Objectives

To be able to identify patients at risk of bleeding problems and understand the medical conditions which may give rise to bleeding issues in dental patients.

To be able to apply current guidelines to the management of patients at increased risk of bleeding and identify medications which impact on a patient’s clotting ability.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course delegates will be aware of issues which may impact on a patient’s clotting ability and identify appropriate strategies to manage this.
