Provide delegates with a better understanding of current legislation for dental radiography.

Objectives
  • Legislation - You will be able to recognize the regulations which govern the taking of radiographs, hazards associated with radiation in the dental surgery, precautions taken to limit radiation hazards, principles & techniques of taking dental radiographs
  • Specific DCP role associated with Radiography - Recognition of the use of radiography in assessing oral health, processing, recording and maintenance of dental radiographs, storing films and chemicals safely, infection control and health and safety issues, care of dental radiographic equipment, support and care of the patient to facilitate treatment
  • Audits & QA - Clear understanding of equipment functioning, identification of faults & mounting procedures, step wedge techniques.
