Objectives

To assess a patient and to identify a suitable procedure at primary care level To be aware of basic oral surgical principles To be able to avoid complications and ability to recognise when and what treatment might be effective and appropriate Know when, where and how to refer to a specialist

To assess the patient prior to treatment To perform surgery in a simulated setting and have the skills to develop this in a clinical setting. To manage patients effectively in a primary care setting including those with complications. To be able to avoid, recognise and appropriately refer if complications arise.
